Current Projects

The Outdoor Classroom serves more than 450 Council Oak Elementary (COE) students. The Outdoor Classroom transformed COE grounds into a half-acre outdoor discovery space incorporating a children’s forest, prairie classroom, outdoor pavilion, and multiple gathering spaces. A Science Education classroom with two water labs was added in spring 2017.

We continue to make investments in our outdoor classroom but now through the ongoing funding of a classroom teacher that supports the curriculum with a focus on S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Through the pandemic during the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 school years, the Foundation continued to fundraise and maintain the school grounds through unique and socially distance ways. We have funded the first year of what is hoped to be a permanent addition to the specials curriculum for all ages.

Donations support ongoing curriculum and material needs.

The Council Oak Elementary (COE) School Foundation

The Foundation maintains the capital improvements and beautification efforts of the COE school grounds.   These efforts are supported by contributions and fundraising events.   Your support of our Maple Ridge treasure is appreciated.
